Oxfam

The Oxford Committee for Famine Relief (Oxfam) was presumably set up to address the issue in the name. Oxfam GB is now just a part of Oxfam International, and has its own publications - see http://www.oxfam.org.uk and their 'publications' section.

But they now appear to be concerned about 'gender' issues, as their publications literature indicates. If they are concerned about famine, surely the relief must be made available to all irrespective of their gender ? So what does their interest in gender issues actually mean in practice ?

One should bear this in mind next time you consider donating.
