Title : Without Authority Author : Barry Worrall Publisher : The Cheltenham Group / www.c-g.org.uk Ebook editions : Adobe Reader : ISBN-10 1-900080-08-7 / ISBN-13 978-1-900080-08-8 Microsoft Reader : ISBN-10 1-900080-07-9 / ISBN-13 978-1-900080-07-1 This ebook is also available in paperback edition : Paperback : ISBN-10 1-900080-09-5 / ISBN-13 978-1-900080-09-5 TO READ YOUR EBOOK The ebook editions require the appropriate reader. These are freely available downloads from Adobe and Microsoft websites. At the time of writing, the URLs for these were : Adobe Reader : http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html Microsoft Reader : http://www.microsoft.com/reader/downloads/pc.asp Once you have installed the reader, you may simply double click on the ebook filename to open the ebook. File extensions are : Adobe : '.pdf', Microsoft : '.lit'. READ-OUT-LOUD Both readers/formats have read-out-loud facilities. FORMAT AND NAVIGATION OF YOUR EBOOK Adobe page format is fixed, and so no adjustments are needed except to maybe resize the window for the reader. With the ebook open, it is useful to click on the 'bookmarks' tab, as this allows useful navigation within the ebook. It is also possible to navigate using the 'Contents'. Microsoft page format is variable, depending on the font size selected, and the resolution of your screen. This results in a different number of pages in the ebook as viewed, i.e. a larger font size results in more pages. It is still possible to navigate using the 'Table of Contents'. NOTE ON MICROSOFT READER 'LIBRARY' Should you delete the book from the reader 'library', the reader will delete the ebook.lit file from whichever folder it was opened. So it is useful to retain a copy of your ebook in another folder or on a CD. NOTE ON MICROSOFT READER RENDERING OF GRAPHIC IMAGES IN EBOOK With the Microsoft format, while it is possible to resize the text, it is not possible to resize graphic images. You may find it necessary to increase the resolution of your screen : this is done from the Windows Control Panel. The graphics problem does not occur in the Adobe format, which also allows the reader window to be resized, and this resizes both text and images.
